Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz, birthed within Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her Winona in honor of the town she grew up in. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's dad came from a Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Ryder has a younger brother Uria and two half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. In the year Ryder was seven, her family relocated from Mendocino County, California. Mendocino County California. There were no electric lights. Ryder who was an avid reader at the age of 12 became a book worm since Ryder had no access to television. Ryder was 12 when she enrolled at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in 1983. Ryder landed her first film role on the big screen in 1986 when she was 15 years young. Ryder was bullied at her high school. Her hope was that her career in acting would change this. But, unfortunately, that didn't take place. But that didn't stop her following her dreams. In 1988 she had her breakthrough role in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was able to continue her successful performances in various films. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated in the Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part In The Age of Innocence.
